I always admire the families I work with for being so strong, despite their often heartbreaking circumstances. Your family is no exception, and your ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE daughter is so lucky to have such wonderful and caring parents who were resolute in finding out what was wrong with Christina - and then making sure she got the very best treatment. It's a very inspiring story and we appreciate your fundraising efforts for Phoenix Children's. It's because of people like you that we're able to do what we do.

We met your family through St. Thomas the Apostle parish and school. Your mother and I originally became acquainted when we were training as facilitators for the Women's Bible Study. I truly enjoy spending time with your mom as she provides such a beautiful testimony to our faith as Catholics. When we heard about the medical challenge you were faced with, my daughter, Hannah, and I shared nightly prayers on your behalf. We were (and remain) grateful to hear the ongoing positive news about your medical condition. We always enjoy seeing your beautiful face when your presence graces us at St. Thomas! Fondly, Tracy, Tom, Henry & Hannah Wilky

Date Posted: 11:20, 24 04 2007 Name: Cindy Leonard Comments: You were the first baby that my daughter, Kelly, babysat who wasn't a family member. We really looked forward to Monday mornings when you would come over for a couple of hours. We always hoped you would spit up so we could change your outfits! Kelly loved singing to you and playing with you. When we heard about the tumor we were so horrified! Your dad had just spoken to the teens at our house about living his faith in the business world. Our boys thought he had been the best speaker so far this year. So real! Well, we thought, here was reality with your illness. And, your family responded in the most beautiful, Christian way, by sharing your troubles with all of us and asking for our prayers. I was so grateful to be asked and it was so special to see all my family join together for rosaries for you. We couldn't wait to get email updates from your mom and were so elated with the results. We keep you in our prayers and hearts. We think our dear Lord has a very special call on your life and it will be wonderful watching you grow up and find what it is. May God continue to bless you and hold you in your healing! Love, Cindy and Mike,John, Andy, Benny, Mikey and Kelly Rose

Date Posted: 14:58, 18 03 2007 Name: The Tesoriero Family Comments: Dear Christina,
Praise God for His mercy to you and His great love for you! God went before you in your illness by having your family take you to Rome, where our Holy Father kissed you in the very place where your mom first discovered a problem--your left eye.
God then was with your Mom and Dad as they found out the problem and found the right doctors to help you.
Christina, a long time ago through the prophet Zechariah, God said, "Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord, these mountains shall be removed."
And in His mercy, He has removed the cancer from your body, because He has a plan for you, as your Mom and Dad have said in the quote at the top of this page.
God bless you very much! Keep smiling at everyone you meet--you bring us God's love and Pope Benedict's blessing!
With all our love and prayers,
the Tesoriero family

Date Posted: 19:48, 13 03 2007 Name: The Leahys and Rosing Keliher Comments: Dearest Christina,
I learned of your illness while on retreat with my daughter in Prescott, AZ. Denise, Carol, and I said the Stations of the Cross for you on Feb. 18th, 2007. That Monday, Presidents Day, I told my Mom of you,
that would be the last time I would ever have my Mom in our home as she died that Saturday morning. She was devastated at the news of my friends baby having such difficulties at such a tender age. My Mom was no stranger to sufferings, as she carried many crosses in her sweet lifetime. She was in a head on crash (in which she said she would have died had our Blessed Mother not turned the wheel for her) with an eighteen wheeler truck and told by Dr's that she would never be able to walk again or have children. With many prayers, she beat the odds.....I am the youngest of her five children. I have faith that she is now in heaven with our dear Lord and have been praying for her intersession on your behalf since she died on the 24th of February in the midst of your illness. My family, including my Mom, Rosine Keliher, have been with you in prayer and spirit and know that "With God All Things are Possible". Hang in there, you and your family are doing great! Give our love to your incredible and adoring family.
Peace and Hope,
Mary, Patrick, Erin, James, Daniel, and Brendan :)

Date Posted: 07:30, 09 03 2007 Name: Patricia Nance Comments: Hi Christina! It's Aunt Patricia again. I am so enjoying reading all of the messages to you from all over the country and the world! You have brought prayer back into the lives of many people and have intensified it in many of the faithful people who have heard your miracle story. I wanted to clarify one of the messages here from "Aunt Deb Nations"...she mentions "your Aunt Nancy", but she meant me...lots of people call me Nancy since my last name is Nance! Anyway, she asked me if she could put your name in the temple and I said yes, because I honestly believe that God hears prayers from all of His faithful followers, regardless of their religion. I hope you agree with me, little one! "Aunt Deb" is Riley's "birth aunt" and has been so helpful in providing him with his biological history. She made him a beautiful book of pictures and he treasures it. I miss you, Christina, and hope to see you again real soon! Love & prayers, Aunt Patricia

Date Posted: 09:43, 07 03 2007 Name: The Rathsburg Family Comments: Dear Christina,
Though we've only seen you a few times at church, we know how special you are- the caboose on the huge Mulhern Train! Since we have a little one, Henry, who is only a few months older than you, we can relate- but just a little- to how scarey it must have been for your Mom and Dad and brothers and sisters to learn about your tumor. Henry fell off the slide last weekend and hit his head really hard and we had to go to the Emergency Room. Everyone was very scared and anxious for a few hours until we found out he was OK. But you are so lucky and blessed to have a Mom and Dad whose faith is like a Rock! Having and raising you kids is not for the feint of heart! Ian, Clare and Henry were praying for you this past week and I saw your Dad right after Confession a few days before your surgery, probably talking to God about you. It's true, God must have big plans for you, Christina.
The pope that was just before the pope who kissed you, John Paul II- and who your oldest brother is named after said, "God allows suffering in the world because it releases love." So, you must be one of the most loved little girls ever born!!
Our family will continue to pray for you and your family. You guys are seriously one of the best role models we have for being a very cool family!
Love, Jenny, Bill, Ian, Clare and baby Henry

Date Posted: 09:34, 05 03 2007 Name: Mitch & Julie Rosen Comments: Dearest Christina, what a precious gift you have been given in this beginning walk of your earthly life and spiritual life. For you have experienced a miracle given only by the grace of the one, true and mighty healer, God. May he continue to heal you in this battle now, and in the years to come as other challenges confront you, albeit physically or spiritually. Boldly call upon Him, Christina, for you already know your healer in a very special way! May all that you experience along this path only serve to bring God glory, and you an ultimate peace. You, tiny daughter of the King, are a powerful witness first-hand of His goodness. The world may tell you that all that has happened in your treatment and recovery is just a "coincidence" or that you are just "lucky", but all those that love you and have been praying for you will attest that it is nothing else than the power of God! How blessed we are to have witnessed your miracle!

The next time I saw your picture, you were being kissed by Pope Benedict one week later, on New Years Day! You always look like an angel to me, and especially when you received that endearing touch and kiss! I believe that was the hand of God, touching you at the point of your tumor, beginning a miraculous series of events which culminated in finding and removing your disease. You are a blessed child and niece, Christina, and I look forward to watching you grow into a beautiful young woman, just like your sisters! I love you! God Bless you, Christina! Love, Aunt Patricia

Date Posted: 23:44, 04 03 2007 Name: the Madros Comments: Dear Christina, What a wonderful family you were blessed to be born into and in turn what a blessing you have become to your family. A miracle from God. Our family and church group in California have prayed for you through your surgery and the power of prayer has been shown to all of us through you. May God continue to bless you!
Date Posted: 19:54, 04 03 2007 Name: Jennifer Frey Comments: On February 27, your sister's caring friend Megan Gunderson came over to our house as she often does. She shared your story with us and we were deeply moved. At that moment we all decided with Megan to join in prayer that God would protect you and give the surgeon skill as you were being operated on that very day (I believe).
Our family continued praying sometimes every 5 minutes throughout the day. I have never met you but I have met your big sister Sarah. I feel that I know you because I have a child named Mabel. She was born the same month as you, same year. I would think of you in the hospital and your dear mother as I held my own precious gift from God. As I nursed Mabel, I would pray for you. That He would uphold you and protect you in His righteous right hand, that he would kill the cancer == that it would be expertly removed and any trace vanish. I also prayed for a peace to sweep over your mom and dad throughout this trial. I don't remember ever praying for anything more. When I received this e-mail of your miraculous recovery I cried. Because when I heard the surgery went very well but you were likely to undergo chemotherapy -- my heart sank. I made that the cornerstone of my prayer--no chemo. And I'm sure with hundreds of others I petitioned our All Powerful God to PLEASE make the chemotherapy TOTALLY UNECESSARY. That was the cornerstone of the prayer--no chemotherapy. So when I saw that chemotherapy did not appear to be necessary my heart lept for joy and we praised God. Even my 5 year old (Macy) and 7 year old (Max) have been praying and we are all rejoicing in His faithfulness! Thank you for increasing our faith Christina. We are your neighbors (on Montebello) whom you have never met but we love you. We yearn to see you and hold you and hug your dear loving, faithful parents. May God continue to bless you. He obviously loves you very much!
Thank you for the opportunity to share how your little life has already impacted us and many others. The Freys Jennifer, Ethan, Max, Macy and Mabel
Date Posted: 19:03, 04 03 2007 Name: Leila Miller Comments: Dearest Christina,
You have a very special place in my heart, from when your life first began. You see, when your mommy was pregnant with you, I was also expecting a baby. You and my baby were due to be born at just the same time. No doubt you would have been classmates, and great friends.
In God's mysterious plan, I lost my little one to a miscarriage. But even in my sadness, I was so happy to know that through the years, I would always be able to look at you and see someone who would be just my baby's age. (And you can imagine how the photo of you being kissed by the Holy Father filled my heart with joy!)
During your diagnosis and surgery, I am certain that my little "Felicity" was interceding for you at the Throne of Our Lord, even as the rest of the Millers were praying for you here on earth.
I thank God for sending you to us; you are such a beautiful and special child for all of us, and you and your family continue to bless our lives.
All the Millers will continue to pray for you and for your family.
Love in Christ, Leila, Dean, Cecily, Eric, Priscilla, Paul, Mark, John and Alexander

From the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew you were extra-special. You danced an Irish jig at your first Thanksgiving dinner while your mommy held you and we delighted in glee as your eyes twinkled like stars and your radiant smile deeply touched our souls. You've captivated the hearts of all who know you because you are so filled with God's pure love and The Holy Spirit. I knew you were destined to live a purposeful life--to heal, bless and bring great joy to the world, and so, when news came about the gravity of your condition, I prayed unceasingly for God's intervention and for your miraculous and expedient restoration to perfect health. You are living testament to God's mercy and His grace, and the almighty power of prayer. I love your Mom and Dad and all your special brothers and sisters, too. I am so happy their pain and suffering has ended and that you are safely back home with them where you belong.
God bless you, our little Earth Angel! My prayers are with you and your family always!

What a beautiful name. My own daughter's middle name is Christine as she is named after Christ. How Christ did suffer for us! But how wonderful that God can use our own sufferings through our joining them with His so that we can participate in the redemption. And I thank our heavenly Father for using my pain to help you in your time of trial. May God bless you, little one. I will continue to offer my sufferings for your good health.
